How to Host A Successful Super Bowl Party | Family Rentals

1/25/2019

With over 100 million people tuning in every year, the Super Bowl is a must-see event. It also gives you the perfect opportunity to throw an amazing party. With a little bit of planning, you can host a Super Bowl party that your friends and family won’t forget. Follow the tips below to host a successful Super Bowl Party.

Good Food

Good food is essential for any Super Bowl party. You can make the food as simple as you want and stick to finger foods and staples, like chips and salsa. Or you can get creative and create your menu around a theme, like BBQ or Tex Mex. If you really want to make the party memorable, rent a popcorn machine and pop some before the start of the game.

Are you worried about preparing food for 20 people? Save yourself time and money by not trying to cook everything. Ask your guests to bring appetizers or desserts. Don’t be afraid to order take out either. Just remember though, you won’t be the only person in town ordering pizza or wings, so plan accordingly.

Make sure you have enough room to display all of the food. If you have limited counter space in your kitchen, arrange the food on your dining room table or a banquet table.

Beverages

This item is a no-brainer. Make sure to have enough alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for your guests. We recommend stocking up on a variety of beers. Some of your guest might like light beers, while others may prefer IPAs. If you want to impress your guests, serve beer from the two cities playing in the Big Game.

Set up large coolers in your kitchen and on the patio so guests can easily access the beverages.

Chairs

This one of the most essential things on your checklist. If you’re having more than a handful of people, there is a good chance not all of your guests can squeeze on your sectional. You don’t need to get fancy with your seating arrangements. Your guests will be happy to sit in folding chairs, as long as they have an unobstructed view of the TV screen.

Serving Utensils

With the huge spread that you are preparing, you’ll need something to serve your food with. Plus, it’s also cold season so you don’t want your guest manhandling the food. Certain things are easier to serve with utensils anyways (e.g. guacamole, chili).

Take stock of your kitchen. Do you have enough tongs, serving spoons and trays? If not, contact your local party rental company. You can rent these necessary items for a few buck rather than purchasing them at the mall or online.

Television(s)

Your 19” TV won’t do when comes to hosting a Super Bowl party. That being said, you don’t have to rush out and buy a TV for the game. You can actually rent a TV for the day. Perhaps, you have 25 people coming to your house, think about having TVs in more than one room.

Entertainment for the Non-Football Fans

Let’s face it, not everyone is a football fan. Some of your guests are just there for the party. Entertain kids or your non-football watching guests with a ping-pong table. Place the ping-pong table in a separate room from the TV. You don’t want to the ping-pong players to get in the way of the people who are actually watching the game (or commercials).

Cornhole is another game that you can keep kids busy during the party. Don’t worry if you don’t have one in your backyard. Rent a cornhole set for the evening.

Squares

Make the Super Bowl more interesting by playing squares. You don’t have to be a football aficionado to play this game. On a piece of paper or poster board, create a 10 x 10 grid. Divide the number of guests you have by 100. That is how many squares each guest gets. Next, each guestwrite his or her name in random squares. Once all of the names have been filled, put the numbers 0-9 on small pieces of paper in a bowl. Have someone pick out the numbers one by one. Write those numbers across the board as they are drawn. Put one team’s name on the side of the board and the other team’s name on the other side. At the end of each quarter, the square that lines up with the last number of both teams’ scores wins. Of course, you’ll havedecide how much money each square is worth before the game starts and collect the money then.

Last but not least, the most important factor in hosting successful a Super Bowl party is to have fun. Don’t stress yourself out planning the event. Super Bowl parties are causal. Just relax and enjoy your family and friends.
